It’s time to get moving, Paxman Academy! The game has officially started today, and we want our school community to lead the way.
Beat the Street is a fun, free challenge where you turn your local area into a giant game by walking, cycling, or rolling to collect points. Here is how you can get involved right now:
1️⃣ Download the App: Search for "Beat the Street" in your app store.
2️⃣ Sign Up: Create your account.
3️⃣ Join the Team: Once you’re in, make sure you join the Paxman Academy team! (Check under "School Teams" or "Community Teams" as this may have updated recently).
4️⃣ Cards are available to collect from local libraries
Points are up for grabs all the way until April 22nd, so let’s see how high we can climb on the leader board! 🏆

Day 3 and 4 of skiing 🎿🏔️🌨️❄️
Day 3: HUGE day for the students, we visited folgaria and explored the beautiful scenery that the pisté had to offer. Students tackled the chair lifts and made their way up to some red runs that some thought would never be possible to ski but proved themselves wrong. Students then took to the slopes in some snow tubing races to see who could get to the bottom quickest. Lots of fun had by all, even the teachers!
Day 4: WHITE OUT!!! All students took on some very challenging ski conditions today. Vezzena experienced a huge 15 inches of snow during the early hours of the morning, leaving the piste to look like something straight out of Narnia!
We take on our final day of skiing tomorrow before we head back to England.

Day 2 of skiing!
Students went up a level yesterday and took on the blue slopes with some even taking the chair lift up even higher. Some could say getting off the lift is the trickiest part!
Students are making HUGE progress with their skiing, showing great control and taking on all feedback from our fantastic instructors.
We finished the evening with some great pizza at the local pizzeria.

Students took to the slopes yesterday for their first day of skiing! They showed great resilience throughout the session and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They have even been brushing up on their italian at dinner.

Flipping for Joy at Cheviot Nursing Home! 🥞✨
Our hearts (and stomachs!) are officially full after an incredible afternoon at Cheviot Nursing Home yesterday. Our students swapped the classroom for the kitchen, and the results were nothing short of magic.
From the first crack of an egg to the final dusting of sugar, the room was buzzing with energy. There is something truly special about seeing a teenager and a resident debating the perfect "flip" technique!
Building these intergenerational bridges is what our community is all about. A huge thank you to the staff and residents at Cheviot for welcoming us with open arms (and empty plates!).

Hearts are full as we prepare for a very special visit! ❤️ This Thursday, our young people are heading over to see our dear friends at Cheviot Nursing Home.
We aren’t just bringing these handmade Valentine’s treats—we’re bringing the flour and eggs, too! We’ll be spending the afternoon flipping pancakes and sharing stories with the residents. We might even see a competitive pancake race or two! 🥞🏃♂️
It’s all about building bridges between generations and making sure every resident knows they are loved. Stay tuned for photos of the fun!

We traded the classroom for the canopy yesterday, and what a start it was! Our first Forest School session was a massive success.
The group spent the morning:
* Exploring: Identifying local wildlife and hidden nature treasures.
* Listening: Tuning into the local birdsong and the rustle of the trees.
* Learning: Discussing the "Golden Rules" of the woods and how to handle tools safely.
The highlight? Den building! 🪵 It was incredible to see the teamwork and creativity on display as the students built their own woodland shelters.
The energy was high, the smiles were big, and it’s safe to say everyone is counting down the days until next week. The most popular request for our next session? Fire! 🔥 (Get ready for some marshmallow magic!)

What a fantastic turnout! It’s clear that our students have some incredible talents outside of the classroom.
Last Friday, we held our annual Activities Fair, and the energy in the room was electric. From the basement-tape vibes of the Rock Band to the strategic intensity of the eSports arena, there was truly something for everyone to dive into.
Here’s a look at the amazing clubs our students explored:
Music & Performance: We saw future stars in Rock Band, DJ Skills, and the Drama club. The Dance floor was also packed with students showing off some serious moves! 🎸🎭
Gaming & Strategy: The tables were buzzing with Warhammer enthusiasts, Pokémon TCG battles, and a high-stakes Super Smash Bros. tournament in the eSports corner. 🎮🃏
Creativity & Craft: Our Crochet club showcased some incredible handmade plushies, while the Photography club inspired us with a gallery of student work. 🧶📸
Wellness & Fitness: Students challenged themselves in the Fitness club and took a moment to reset at the Mindfulness station. 🧘♂️💪
